Meet Stormerz, the vibrant hard dance artist from Chile! Fabian has been making music for over a decade, and 2024 has become a standout year, with gigs lighting up festivals across the country. Since 2013, his hardstyle beats have captivated fans far beyond his wildest dreams. Come along as we dive into Stormerz’s journey, uncover his personal story, and hear his thoughts on the music scene!

What year did you start producing music?

“I started when I was in school, like around 2013,” he reflects, adding, “I’ve always been a huge house music fan or like trance music or [the] radio. So, that’s mostly my biggest influence from back in the days . . . something you can listen to in the car or at a party.” This nostalgic style of dance music fuels Stormerz’s creativity, blending those early influences with his hardstyle touch in the studio. His efforts are to keep it nostalgic yet hard.

“How did you get started with bookings?”

Fabian’s journey began with sharing his music online and in Facebook groups. Still, it was his timing in Chile that truly set the stage. When Defqon.1 debuted in Chile in 2015, Stormerz’s rising profile earned him a spot on the iconic purple stage. This exhilarating gig marked his first official booking, and what better place to kick off than at the heart of Hardstyle’s legendary festival, Defqon.1!

“How did you come up with Stormerz, and how do you feel about it now with your rise?”

Fabian laughs and says, “Ah, fuck man. I kind of hate this question because I don’t know what to say.” Marcus chuckles, and Stormerz keeps the mood lively, “I would love to have a meaning to it, but I don’t really.” The name kicked off as a quirky idea inspired by a video game username, according to Stormerz, and it evolved into something way more significant. He adds with genuine excitement, “It’s crazy just to see where I can play, how many festivals I’m playing, even to play in a different country than where I live is fucking insane! It’s a dream come true.” Stormerz never expected to make it big, so the name had to accompany the ride. Now, it’s become a standout brand for fans and hardstyle music across the globe.

Stormerz takes us back to his unforgettable first rave, which sparked it all:

Ultra Music Festival in Chile had its debut year in 2013. Fabian reminisces with a grin, “I was underage, but I was looking at some after-movies and stuff, and I really wanted to go, so I did. I just sneaked in, and I just loved it!” This thrilling escapade marked his first festival experience, where he witnessed legendary acts like Avicii and Hardwell—pioneers who defined a generation’s sound—this electrifying moment sparked his deep passion for music production, forever changing his life’s trajectory.

“What is your most memorable career moment, achievement, or memory?

“I would have to say, Defqon.1 mainstage. It was in 2022. The red stage was fucking amazing,” Stormerz modestly shares. He recalls it being a Saturday opening and how a supportive Chilean crowd of around 200 came out to cheer him on amid the mainstage crowd. “I didn’t expect to play there, and also to have so many people supporting [me],” he says with wonder and gratitude. This gig was a significant milestone for him, and he fondly remembers the experience of fully immersing himself in the moment and making the most of it.

“Do you have a favorite and least favorite track of yours?”

Stormerz shares with a smile, “Maybe my favorite is ‘Feels Like Home and maybe ‘Strangers’ too. And, one I don’t like… probably something from the beginning. Let me check my Spotify, actually,” he says, grinning as he taps his computer mouse. As the conversation unfolds, Marcus mentions an older track, “Within My Mind” by Stormerz. Stormerz acknowledges it’s probably his least favorite. Still, he reflects with humility, noting that regardless of past preferences, it’s all part of the journey and showcases the evolution and growth along the way.

“Do you have any advice for aspiring producers, DJs, and anything you want to say to your fans or viewers?”

Stormerz offers this thoughtful advice: “Just have fun, [and] don’t pay too much attention to feedback because, in the end, you know what your vision is, so you have to stick to what you feel and what you stand for.” He adds, “Just follow your vision and also pay attention to the business side of it.” Fabien echoes this sentiment, emphasizing how many talented individuals remain under the radar because they overlook the business aspects. His motto for this topic is, “Believe in yourself and learn how the industry works.”

We all navigate our paths by heeding similar advice. Still, each person’s unique take on that guidance can provide a new perspective or approach that resonates differently. The journey to achieving our goals involves various elements, and success comes from applying ourselves to each of them. Thankfully, artists like Stormerz are here to guide and support others in realizing their visions.
